AmRhein Wine Cellars, a family-owned winery since 1999, is elevated at 2500 feet and located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Foggy Ridge Cider

At Foggy Ridge Cider in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Cidermaker Diane Flynt combines innovation and tradition. Over 30 American, English and French apple varieties—ugly and hard to grow but full of the tannin, acid and aroma needed for fine cider—are blended to create a traditional hard cider crafted with modern techniques.

Part of a 3-class series for any wine enthusiast, each class features a guided tour through our wines in current production, covering everything from growth to bottling.

We sample several wines with complimentary sweet and savory bites to showcase flavor. Each class will be led by our winemaker, Seth McCombs.

toursMountain Road Wine Experience

Adventure awaits around every bend. Sample fine wine, cider and mead and experience a diverse blend of relaxing tasting rooms and mountain air...all infinitely cooler than the lowlands. The Mountain Road Wine Experience hosts two special tasting tours per year. The first is the second weekend of June, followed by another the second weekend of September. Folks can also sample wines from each member of the trail at The Tasting Room in downtown Floyd.

Whether it's pairing sweet or fruity white wines with mild cheeses or dry reds with boldly flavored cheeses, learn how to expertly match wines with cheeses of all kinds at our Fall Wine and Cheese Tasting on Saturday, September 17th from 4-5:30pm. Let your tastebuds--and our pairing expert--be your guide as you learn the dos and don'ts of this classic duo. $18 per person includes wine, cheese and pairing information.
