March 22, 2014 ~ Beliveau Vineyard presents our Welcome to Spring Party!

After this Cold Winter we'll want to enjoy an evening of great music, food, and wine. The incredible Stone Canyon Band will play from 6-10pm.  Three food stations will be set up with a wine pairing at each.

Center for the Arts at VA Tech

2014 ~ Center for the Arts at VA Tech presents the Exhibition of Landscape: Another Dimension

Featuring four distinct artists: Abstract paintings in oil on birch panel with acrylic, charcoal, graphite and Prismacolor pencil by local artist Joni Pienkowski, hyperrealist paintings using house paint and acrylics on house wrap by New York-based artist Adam Cvijanovic, fusions of painting and filmmaking by Dutch artist Jacco Olivier, and a five-channel video installation by Japanese artist Chiho Aoshima.

April 6, 2014 ~ The Moonshine Express in the town of Rocky Mount, additional date on April 13!

It's not against the law to TALK about making liquor, and that's what we do!

Hear true tales of likker in 'The Moonshine Capital of The World.' More than 75 characters & interpreters tell the story of moonshining in Franklin County. Tales of prohibition, antique barrooms, likker makers and drinkers.

Ride a vintage tour bus, stopping at multiple scenes around the county seat of Rocky Mount. Meet folks from both sides of the law, hear from the most famous lady rum runner of her time and hear "church women" decry Demon Rum.

Choose your departure time for an approximate 1 1/2-hour tour. Rain or, well, Shine!

Advance ticket purchase recommended.

April 11, 2014 - Center for the Arts at VA Tech presents Tomáš Kubínek, Certified Lunatic and Master of the Impossible!

Meet the one and only Professor Tomáš Kubínek, a virtuoso vaudevillian who brings us an utterly joyous experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.

His feats on stage mix clowning, magic, acrobatics, aerial stunts, and improvisations that will make you smile. Described as a cross between Red Skelton, Christopher Lloyd, and Victor Borge, the Czech-born Kubínek will leave you clutching your sides with laughter. Recommended for ages six and older.

Admission Fee: $20-$30 general admission, $10 students with ID and children 18 and under
