The wonderful thing about Fall in the Blue Ridge Mountains of course are the magnificent colors of the changing leaves.  And what better way to enjoy the mountain scenery than a leisurely drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Making stops in the small towns that border it you'll find wineries celebrating virginia Wine Month, Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes that are fun for all ages, Fall Festivals with apple butter making, cider, music and crafts, and of course all those unique little shops that offer one of a kind gifts that you can take back to family and friends.

Crazy for corn mazes?
Sleuths are invited to wind their way through Virginia's corn mazes, and scour pumpkin patches for the perfect, carvable, orange gourd.

Ararat - Doe Run Farm has a themed corn maze with trivia along the way! Launch apples, pick pumpkins or go down the hay slide. Fresh produce available for purchase.

Meadows of Dan - Weekends Sept 2-Oct 30 - Corn Acoustics Corn Maze Days is a musically-themed corn maze just off The Crooked Road. Children enjoy the hay bale maze, and we have even smaller mazes for little tots!

Boones Mill - Saturdays in October - Thee Red Barn Corn Maze and More! - Explore our 7-acre corn maze, enjoy our farm animals, and take a hay ride! We have a small train for children, and free fun like our hay slide, bat race, bean bag throw, and more. We have food, so come spend the day!

Juicy, fresh-picked apples are hard to beat.
Visit Virginia's orchards to pluck your own, or find an apple themed festival for ready-to-eat treats!

Ararat - Levering Orchard - The South's largest pick-your-own cherry orchard with many acres of apples, peaches, pears, and nectarines. The Levering Orchard was first founded in 1908. Visitors are encouraged to bring their entire families - and yes, this is a pet friendly facility.

Cana - Ayers' Orchard - The orchard offers pick-your-own cherries, apples, peaches, nectarines, and plums. The crops are seasonal and you must plan your trip according to the season that the crop is ready to pick. Hiking and picnicking are encouraged.

Woolwine - Wade's Orchard - Local grown apples, peaches, cabbage, tomatoes, honey & other assorted produce and canned goods as season permits.
Wytheville - Williams Orchard - We have a wide variety of produce from July until October ranging from apples and corn to pumpkins and gourds.
