There are plenty of Events happening in 2013 to get you out of the house.  Everything from cultural to adventurous ---- make a day of it. A  day's itinerary could include participating in an excruciating bike race in the morning and then relaxing to sounds of bluegrass with a mug of local brew in the afternoon.   • May 4 | 6th Annual BrewRidge Music & Craft Beer Festival
    11:30 am to 7:00 pm. Celebrate “Local Brews & Local Blues” The festival fosters an intimate and family-friendly atmosphere where you can meet the brewers and sample craft beers from Virginia-exclusive breweries. Enjoy local musical talent with Indian Run Stringband, The Boatmen, The Black Twig Pickers and The Jugbusters. The event is rain or shine, held on the grassy lawn and gazebo (bring your chair or blanket!) or inside Mary’s Barn with a great dance floor and acoustics. All proceeds benefit the Mountain Lake Conservancy. Tickets are available in advance through the website at a discounted price and also the day-of. Please visit the website for more details.   • May 26 | Mountains of Misery Bike Race
    Mountains of Misery 2013 is a challenging bike ride for dedicated road cyclists through the heart of southwest Virginia. The annual timed event features century (100+ mi) and double-metric century (200 km/124+ mi) options—both ending in a tough, four-mile 12%–16% graded climb to the finish. The 16th Annual Mountains of Misery is scheduled for Sunday, May 26, 2013.
